I have always been passionate about food, especially dessert. This admiration cum obsession led me to leave the rural Midwest for New York City. It was there that I studied Classic Pastry Arts at the French Culinary Institute and turned a hobby into a professional craft. After five years of living and eating my way through New York, I moved to San Francisco where I worked at the Williams-Sonoma corporate headquarters as a food developer. I now spend my time exploring the Bay Area's culinary offerings and designing specialty cakes for weddings, showers and other parties on a commission basis. I have a Bachelor's in Journalism from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and have written freelance about food for publications such as Time Out New York, Table & Plate magazine and Pastryscoop.com.
